Meet Michelle ⁓ playful thinker, pattern maker & pun-loving illustrator.

Hello! I’m Michelle, the artist behind Yaldi Designs.

I’m a Scottish illustrator and surface designer now based in sunny Australia, creating bold, joy-filled artwork packed with humour, personality and charm.

My work is playful, character-led and often a little retro, with expressive line work, visual storytelling, and the occasional terrible pun.

I love creating artwork that makes people smile — whether that’s for packaging, products, publishing, hospitality, commercial collaborations, or licensing collections.

No two projects need to look identical, but the common thread is usually fun, warmth, memorable personality, and a healthy dose of big-kid energy.

That sense of energy, fun and feel-good personality is exactly what inspired the name, and still shapes the kind of work I create today.

Whether it’s a cheeky character, a playful pattern collection, or artwork designed for products, packaging or licensing, the goal is the same: creating visuals with personality that connect with people and leave a lasting impression.
